There have been tons of rumors and speculation surrounding GTA 6 and the technology powering it, so one would assume it’s far enough long in development.
But I really think we’ll hear something more official next year. Now if GTA 6 doesn’t release until 2025, then maybe we need to wait until 2023 for the game to be announced. Or teased at the very least.Ī teaser or announcement of GTA 6 in 2022 would presumably give the studio two more years until the target 2024 release.

Looking back at Grand Theft Auto 5, the game was first teased in October 2011 with the first teaser trailer released in 2011. Odds are, Rockstar has already begun work on GTA 6. After all, preliminary work on GTA 5 began around the time Grand Theft Auto 4 released in April 2008, while full development ran for approximately three years. Presumably, Grand Theft Auto 6 is already in development. But what does that mean for its announcement? When will GTA 6 be revealed? This is the longest Rockstar has gone in between major releases in the blockbuster franchise, which has led to much speculation as to when the studio will announce Grand Theft Auto 6.īased on rumors and leaks from industry veterans such as Tom Henderson, a prominent Call of Duty leaker and YouTuber, and Jason Schreier, Grand Theft Auto 6 won’t actually be released until 2024 or 2025 at the earliest.
